Mission statement/description
The nuns' contemplative Carmelite vocation is a call to serve God exclusively through prayer, sacrifice, and penance. In a hidden way, living in the presence of God is the center of their life. They pray for all, especially interceding for priests and the intentions of the Church. Through their solemn religious vows and life of simplicity, they strive to imitate our Blessed Mother, the most excellent disciple, as guided by the charism of their Holy Parents Sts. Teresa of Jesus (Avila) and John of the Cross, with papal enclosure, full traditional habit, and blend of silence, solitude, and joyful community. New/Traditional Masses, Divine Office (including Gregorian chant), Lectio Divina, Eucharistic Adoration, Benediction service, community Rosary, and Novena devotions. Bilingual (English/Spanish) in deference to the heritages of the nuns' Holy Parents and their foundation (1927) which fled religious persecution in Mexico. |
