About Us
Mission statement/description
The Canons Regular of the Immaculate Conception is a congregation of priests and brothers, living in common according to the Rule of Saint Augustine. They live a spirituality founded on Christ and His saving mystery celebrated in the richness of the Sacred Liturgy. They are devoted to our Blessed Mother Mary, in the Immaculate Conception. They dedicate themselves to all the duties and offices of the pastoral ministry in the parishes where they serve.
Qualifications for entry
1) Be baptized and confirmed men of good physical and emotional health, with a good moral character for a life of community, prayer and apostolic work. 2) A sincere desire to become holy. 3) The desire to enter the religious life to follow Christ in the vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience. 4) The desire to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours) with all due solemnity, and a love for personal prayer. 5) The willingness to serve the Church in the parish ministry and the duties given by the superiors. 6) A filial devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. 7) Dedication to the Holy Father and fidelity to the teaching of the Magisterium.
Formation program
Aspirancy period of three months (may be longer depending upon the candidate); one year postulancy; one year novitiate; three years temporary vows during which studies are continued for the priesthood or training for the brotherhood. After three years in temporary vows, one can make his solemn profession.
Age range/limit
Brotherhood up to 45.
Priesthood up to 35.
