Mission statement/description
The Handmaids are cloistered contemplatives dedicated to Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration for the sanctification of priests and the needs of the whole world.
As a Pontifical community, their love for the Church is expressed in their unswerving loyalty and fidelity to the Holy Father, the Vicar of Christ on earth. |
Qualifications for entry
Good physical and mental health with sufficient emotional maturity to live a joyful monastic life. Candidates must also be free from all canonical impediments. |
Formation program
Candidates participate in a three-month aspirancy program by correspondence and a week long “Come and See” with retreat. This is followed by a nine month to one year postulancy and a two-year novitiate. Vows are renewed annually for five years before solemn vows are taken. |
