Mission statement/description
As the Daughters of St. Francis, these sisters have dedicated themselves to a life of prayer which is strengthened by the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. Life according to the evangelical counsels helps them to realize their ultimate purpose: the glory of God and their sanctification.
As Franciscans, their aim is the service of Christ in His poor, sick and aged brothers and sisters. Their apostolate is carried out at their nursing home in Lacon, IL and their hospital in Mountain View, MO. As they are involved in a variety of roles, they promote respect for the person and for human life from conception to its natural end.
In their prayer they ask for the grace to fully live out their charism of poverty, humility and a loving union with God. Holy Mass and the Divine Office are celebrated daily with frequent adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. |
