Mission statement/description
These Dominican sisters are a cloistered, contemplative, diocesan institute of consecrated life in the Church. Called by God, they strive to live the gift of religious life following Dominican monastic tradition of silence and solitude, study and prayer in a communal setting, bearing witness to the presence of Christ's love in the midst of His people. They consecrate themselves to God by vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and they pray for the Church, the Holy Father, the clergy and all of God's people. |
Qualifications for entry
Inquiries welcome from any Catholic woman who sincerely desires to consecrate herself to God through the evangelical counsels and a life of contemplative prayer. She should be in good mental and physical health, having completed two years of school or work experience beyond high school (college education preferred, but not essential). The candidate should submit recommendations from her pastor or spiritual director and at least two other persons who know her well. |

Aspirancy: an optional two to six week experience of community life. Postulancy: six-month initiation into contemplative Dominican religious life. Novitiate: a full year of preparation for first profession of the evangelical counsels, including study of Scripture, constitutions, liturgy, and documents of the Church.
