About Us
Mission statement/description
The Dominican sisters of St. Cecilia, Nashville, live a contemplative/apostolic life in community, in the charism of St. Dominic. Their primary apostolate is teaching in Catholic schools, based on a regular life of prayer, community and monastic observance.
Qualifications for entry
Single, Catholic laywoman; good health, both physical and mental; maturity to undertake and continue religious formation; must be at least a high school graduate.
Formation program
One-year postulancy; one-year canonical novitiate; five years in temporary vows prior to final vows. First four years of formation period are spent under the direction of the mistress of novices and her assistant, within the novitiate setting, at the Motherhouse.
