Mission statement/description
The Visitation, a contemplative order, was founded by St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal "to give to God daughters of prayer, and souls so interior that they may be found worthy to serve His infinite majesty and to adore Him in spirit and in truth." |
Qualifications for entry
Desire for life of prayer within the cloister; ability to live a community life; sufficient health and maturity to embrace the monastic life. |
Formation program
Pre-postulancy: three to six months depending on the individual candidate; postulancy: six months to a year; novitiate: two years; first profession: three years; followed by solemn profession. |
