Mission statement/description
These sisters follow the compassionate Christ of the Gospels as they serve in parish ministry and in the care of retired and ill priests, with special care, concern and reverence. The call to Carmel is a call to serve the Church through prayer and sacrifice. The Order of Carmel dates to its spiritual founder, the prophet Elijah on Mount Carmel, 900 years before Christ.
Qualifications for entry
Single and Catholic, in good physical and mental health, be a high school graduate, and be motivated to love and serve God in any capacity required of her.
Formation program
Postulancy: six months to one year - will learn basic rudiments of religious life and become acquainted with Carmelite saints. Novitiate: two to three years - study of vows, some apostolate exposure. Temporary profession: three years - annual vow renewal, some academic study. Final profession: preceded by six-day retreat - now fully incorporated in community.
