The year is completed with the clothing ceremony, the postulant dressing as a bride, her hair cut, and clothing in the holy habit with a white veil, and a new name. Novitiate is for two years, more fully following the daily order of the monastery. The novice is instructed is the spirit and obligation of the vows she will take. The novitate ends with temporary profession, the veil being changed to black.
