About Us
Mission statement/description
St. Martin de Porres is a community of single persons and families, and are lay or secular Third Order Dominican members. Their community life is based on the desire to live a life faithful to Christ and the teachings of His Church. With a chapel and a chaplain, they are able to center their lives around the Blessed Sacrament. As well as being lay Dominicans, they also have the privilege of having a directory, or way of life, approved by the Dominican Order. The main apostolate of St. Martin's is that of evangelization in the spirit of St. Dominic. The community accomplishes this through publications which outline the Church's teachings on topics from family life to doctrine. Catholics United for Life, a nationwide organization founded by the community, promotes the teachings of the Catholic Church on sexual morality, Christian marriage, and the sanctity of human life. Associated with the community is The Center for Law and Justice International, which is devoted to the legal protection of human life and defending First Amendment rights.
