Mission statement/description
The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother of Christ was founded in Nigeria by Archbishop Charles Heerey, C.S.Sp in 1937. Inspired by his humility, outstanding love of God and filial devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, they strive to imitate Christ in the humble and compassionate service to the poor, the sick and the less privileged of the society. They dedicate ourselves to the training of women and children, teaching, pastoral and social work. They are found in eleven countries around the world, with nine houses in North America. |
Qualifications for entry
Single Catholic women aged 18-35, who seek a life of prayer humble and compassionate service, willing to leave one’s own country for mission, may seek entrance. |
Formation program
The formation program includes two years of postulancy, two years of novitiate and one year of scholasticate after first profession of vows. |
