Mission statement/description
The Little Brothers is a contemplative community of Franciscan brothers living the "hidden life of Nazareth" in prayer and Eucharistic adoration among Christ's poor in the inner-city ghettos, favelas and barrios of the world, in a ministry of presence and friendship. They follow the Rule for Regular Communities of the Third Order of St. Francis and a set of unique guidelines for a way of life patterned after St. Francis' rule for Religious Life in Hermitages. They strive to imitate and experience the three great loves of St. Francis: Eucharistic adoration and liturgical prayer, ministry to the "lepers" of society, and actual poverty like Christ and His Apostles. |
