Mission statement/description
The Congregation of Poor Clare Missionary Sisters (Misioneras Clarisas) was founded in Cuernavaca, Mexico in 1945 by the Servant of God Mother Maria Ines Teresa Arias. The Pontifical approval was granted in 1951. The spirit of the Congregation is Eucharistic, Marian, priestly and missionary, having as its basis adherence to the divine will, fountain of all joy, and as its center Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament - its guide, love and strength. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patroness of the Congregation. |
Qualifications for entry
Single Catholic laywoman in good physical health with the desire to consecrate her life to God in Christian or non-Christian countries. |
Formation program
Postulancy lasts from six months to three years. Novitiate lasts two to two and a half years, then the profession for three years, followed by another three years before the final vows. |
